About The Owner

T&D Construction is proud to serve the North Dallas-Fort Worth area. Owner Tom Richards started the company sixteen years ago after his family encouraged him to start his own business instead of working for someone else. Tom spent his summers working with his dad on construction jobs growing up. Little did he know that a summer job would later turn into a career!

Tom puts the skills he learned from working at lumbar yards and building companies – communication, teamwork, problem-solving and discipline – to use.

   We initially contracted with a different company to have an 40x16 patio extension and had the worst experience. A project that should’ve taken about a month to complete stretched out 7-8 months and still was not complete at the end of it. What was completed was a disaster waiting to happen. Tom at T&D Construction was referred to us by some friends and within 2 days he was out reviewing our patio situation. He had to tear down and start over 60% of the project but still completed the patio plus the outdoor kitchen in less than 3 weeks. We are SO unbelievably happy that we can now utilize our outdoor space all thanks to T&D Construction!!

   T&D's remodel of our back porch was truly transformative. The view is breathtaking, and the additional outdoor living space is what Tom and I had envisioned for us. He kept us updated on all time frames/schedules --and ran interference for all city permits and HOA requirements.    Wonderful couple to work with that own this business.  I knew first time I met Tom I wouldn’t go with any other. Workmanship turned out better than I hoped for. Always takes more time than we would like for construction but it was worth the wait. Few small things that needed fixed - Tom will make sure they get done. Very nice Christian couple!    T&D did a wonderful job with my outside patio. I knew what I wanted, but I really didn't know. Tom helped out with the size and design. We included lights, ceiling fans and outlets, and installed a sliding glass door. I highly recommend T&D!
The finished product is a backyard game changer! My family and I are always out there now whereas before, we hardly set foot in the back!

   This company built a back patio extension, side patio with outdoor kitchen, and redid a front door outside entryway on a project on a golf course in Plano.  They were remarkable!  All was done in cedar and included electrical, gas, lighting, and full outdoor kitchen built from scratch.  This was all made from cedar, but also included artificial turf work as well as stone and concrete work.  They were prompt and VERY communicative!  And totally OVER DELIVERED.  Our original design for the back would have obstructed some of our golf course view and he saw it, stopped construction, got ahold of us and figured out a way to get it done.  In many years of house remodels(both for us and for others), it was great to see a contractor stop and figure out a solution that worked, instead of just building it and saying we built to your specs!  We have had many people from the golf course comment on their work, and a couple ask to come in to the backyard to look at both patios and outdoor kitchen!  I wish ALL of our contractors would have showed up, performed, cleaned up, and overdelivered like T&D Construction did!  Call them, you won’t be disappointed! Dan & Deb
